3 eggs
3 tablespoons heavy cream
1/4 cup granulated white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons butter; melted
1 teaspoon brandy extract or 1 tablespoon bran
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cardamom
2 cups all-purpose flour plus
1 cup all-purpose flour
Salad oil; for deep frying

Mix eggs thoroughly with cream and sugar. Add shortening, brandy extract, salt, cardamon and first measure of flour and then enough of the second measure to make a stiff dough. Wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate one hour or more. Heat 2" of oil to 365°F. On lightly floured surface, roll half of dough paper thin. Cut in 1" X 3" strips. Fry until delicate brown. Cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
